Citizens of third countries
People from outside the EU/EFTA can only come to work in Switzerland if they are “qualified”. This concerns managers, specialists and other qualified people, such as those with university-level degrees and several years of professional experience.
A work permit is necessary even for short-term employment. The administrative procedures are the responsibility of the employer, who must demonstrate that the hiring is in the economic interest of the country. You must also demonstrate that you have not been able to find the necessary personnel on the Swiss or EU/EFTA markets. If the stay in Switzerland lasts several years, the person's potential for integration into the professional and social environment is also taken into account (language knowledge, age, etc.)

A work permit does not necessarily give the right to enter Switzerland. Depending on nationality, a visa is sometimes required.
The Swiss Government establishes each year a maximum number of stay permits for workers from third countries
